“Waterhouse combines an astute attention to detail with an honest desire to match
the emotional impact of the music that inspires him by using all vintage equipment recording to magnetic tape and mastered straight to mono on the same Gold Star Studios Lathe that Phil Spector & The Beach Boys once used.”

The Superimposers & Mojo Magazine

image

Mojo Magazine approached Wonderfulsound asking The Superimposers to provide a cover version of the Beach Boys lesser know track “Trombone DIxie”.  Like a cross between God Only Knows, Pet Sounds and a Jazz Rag, this track was actually left off the original Pet Sounds release but surfaced some years later.

“The Wonderfulsound brass section were not available so we replaced them with the omnichord”

This Saturday - Tres Reyes

image

This coming Saturday sees the return of Deke and Miles at the Three Kings Public House in Clerkenwell. If you turn up you will probably hear this recent discovery by Deke. A seriously magical but twisted piece of home made space funk. Released very soon as part of an LP consisting of more of the same by the sounds of it.

Aficionado, the legendary manchester based Sunday night where you can find Moonboots & Jason Boardman DJing, finally starts it’s own record label.  There’s only one rule at Aficionado, original vinyl records only and anyone caught playing a reissue has to wear the sleeve on their head whilst the record plays.

The 1st release is a remix of Shawn “Ping Pong” Lee’s obscure track “San Diego” remixed by Phil Mison.  As Moonboots says himself…”It’s the greatest release of the 21st century.”

Available as 12’ vinyl now at all good Record shops. Buy and Listen here

Jeb Loy Nichols digs up a sublime 45 by Joe Hicks for Caught By The River.  Sounding like an out take from Sly Stone’s seminal “There’s a Riot….” as Jeb says “a minimal wall of funk”  Hear the 45 and read all about it at the Jeb Loy Nichols Jukebox Here
